Public health and preventive medicine is increasingly asserting indispensable role in protecting and enhancing human health by aiming towards the goal of "health for all". It is necessary to have not only a combination of various specialties in these fields, but also the attention from the provincial and municipal in domestic and international level. Furthermore, we need to build a global cooperation in public health research and have an action plan to achieve the aforementioned goal.
In recent years, the issues related to public health and preventive medicine have been gained more attentions and got funding for research from organization. In order to gather, publish and share some research results, experiences and practical applications, Pasteur Institute Ho Chi Minh City has organized periodically a two-year Scientific Conference with the active participation of research institutes. universities, medical units, scientists in the region, domestically and internationally, which help solve public health problems of the Southern region.
